There I was at the end of my while day I set aside for approaching. Having tried dozens of places and situations but never had the balls to actually talk to a girl without some kind of common denominator.

Feeling a bit down I walk through the inner city of a smaller town on my way home looking for an ice because it's so hot. I groomed myself as good as possible for today, wore well fitting cloths and my sunglasses. I am a 29 years old man but look a bit closer to early 20s.

I see a few teenage girls (maybe 15?) sitting in the distance trying to not look at me but totally suck at being sneaky. Suddenly two of them get up and hurry in front of some kind of vending machine as I pass them by. They do their girlish whispering and giggling and let me pass. As I pass by again they follow me close and are basically catcalling me without making some kind of refferance to me. I just thought "what the fuck?!? Is this real life?" I never considered myself even remotly attractive and those two teens are catcalling me... After a few seconds of me ignoring them one mentions my blue shirt and I suddenly turn around. I slowly remove my sunglasses as I enjoy their "oh fuck what have I done" faces - and smile. I say hi and we exchange a few words before the other girl hurries a few feet away to look busy into some shopping window. The way they both exchanged glances and her friend telling me it's her birthday made it obvious she fancied me but was way too shy. For her age she was very pretty and if I was even remotely her age lookswise she would be the kind of girlfriend you dream of. But not wanting to flirt with teens I wish her a happy birthday and a happy day in general before parting ways.

And then I laugh. Loud and hard. Those two girls had more balls in a few moments than I had the whole day. Moral of the story:

Get your head out of your ass and stop over thinking it. All it took those girls was a few seconds to know what they wanted and act on it. They might be bad at it. They even knew they might expect trouble. But they didn't expect to make someone's day so easily. And so can you. Just by saying hi.
