Before I continue, let me say this: I don't mean to offend anyone by writing this, in fact, it's something that I sort of realized about myself. And I think it could help a lot of people on here.
There's no denying that Reddit is a great site and source for... well, just about anything. But I don't think it's particularly helping with a lot of issues. One of which would be what you'd call 'game'.
The main issue is that having a resource such as Reddit can make you be in your own head way too much. You tend to overthink certain stuff, because you know there might be an answer for what you're going through.
And I've certainly been guilty of that myself. Met a girl, started talking to her, and then all of a sudden I freaked out. What if I'm going to fuck it up? What if I'm going to write the wrong message and get rejected? Then you discover places like /r/dating/, /r/relationships/ and /r/seduction/. And you start searching for all the buzz words that may lead to cases like yours. You search for 'met girl in class', 'how to ask out', 'approach shy girls', or whatever it may be in your case. You read all of these stories from people you don't know, often with stories that make you think: "Dude, she's all over you. Just do XYZ, it's not that hard!"
But then you start to feel kind of down. Because in all these cases, the answer seems so easy. Yet in your own case, there are all these obstacles that seem to keep you from being happy and confident and whatnot. You read all these threads and think, "well, but it's a bit more tricky in my case."
Guess what -- it isn't. You just unknowingly stuck your head in the sand. What you read here are very condensed version of stories, positive or negative. A success story always makes the OP seem like some superhuman ladykiller, but there's just so much more to it. There are always some doubts involved, overcoming fears, making that first step, etc. Just because he managed to put it in 500 words, doesn't mean that it was as easy as it seems.
So if you take away anything from this rant, it should be this: get off Reddit, and start paying attention to your life. Your situation. Learn to make decisions in the moment and based on your own confidence. There's nothing to be gained from overthinking, because these things rarely work out like they do in your head. Life is complicated. Sometimes, getting to know someone is easy as cake, but sometimes it can take some effort. There is no right answer, and there's nothing that a stranger on the internet can tell you about your situation.
And if you need to fail a few times, so what? Better to have tried and failed, than not to have tried at all.
