First of all, they don't have to be true, they just need to be semi-interesting.

Second, don't be some monotone, boring loser who's not even interested in his own story. Tell the story like it's the most amazing, important thing that's ever happened. Girls love a guy who's passionate. The more excited you sound, the less interesting the story needs to be.

Third, have some facial expressions and animation in your body. Don't stand there with a straight face and hands in your pockets. Fortunately, for most people, when their voices get excited, their bodies do too on their own.

If you love a great story and are a Scorsese fan (how can you not be?) then you will love the stories told by Stephen Prince. He's Easy Andy from Taxi Driver and the overdose scene in Pulp Fiction is taken directly from him.

Did I mention he tells a mean fucking story!?
