It's better to avoid mistakes in the first place, than to make mistakes and fix them. Because often it can't be fixed no matter what.

You should not lose the respect of your partner in the first place. If you lost their respect, it's often because you did a dumb thing that you shouldn't have done. Like cheating or lying.

Let's say a guy cheated, now their partner lost respect for them. Now this dude spends the next 3 years playing submissive and apologetic because she's holding that stuff over his head.

Instead, this idiot should just not have cheated in the first place. Now that he did, it's probably better for him to leave the relationship than to continue trying to fix it.

Don't take your partner for granted. Keep regularly going on dates. Move the relationship forward. Have plans and goals. All of this even if you are married. Communicate often.
