look at any great public speaker, notice not one of them has their hands to their side. using your hands to talk displays comfort in your situation, comfort in yourself and many other powerful traits. in my opinion, not talking with your hands is a sign of insecurity.

Talk with your hands. It's part of being expressive. Insecurity is fidgeting, which means shifting your weight from foot to foot, leaning in to whisper in her ear, touching your face etc. Keep your legs relatively still but be expressive.
