I met a girl through mutual friends. We had an amazing time at a wedding and hooked up.
The in person interaction was nearly flawless and she was throwing herself at me. I made an incredibly good in person impression on her.
At the time (6 months ago) she made it extremely clear that she had feelings for me.
The issue is that we now live in separate states and are both busy pursuing different careers so nothing further is going to happen anytime soon. But we will most likely see each other at some point through our mutual friends, no way of knowing when.
I still text her just to stay in touch. My in person game is much better than my text game. Our text communication isnt bad, but it gives me anxiety cause its so hard to tell the other persons tone.
Recently I texted her something, she texted back. Then I texted her a joke and she didnt respond. Looking back it was kind of a lame joke and since then Ive been overanalyzing everything and wondering If I screwed up the whole thing by seeming (overeager/cheesy/forcing a conversation when it wasnt there...etc.)
Logically, I bet she was busy or didnt know how to respond. And i myself dont respond to friends sometimes and know it means nothing. But still, the thought that I might have already ruined it still bothers me.
My question is this. If the in person interaction was excellent, could a lame text like that ruin the attraction that was already built?
