Hey everyone,

All of my previous relationships I have been in - the girl and I before we even started dating in the building rapport, getting to know each other phase, would text frequently. As in we would start texting and go back in forth with quick few min gap or less Reponses. This gave a clear platform for getting to know each other more and build familiarity even before "dating".

The 2 girls that I am talking to currently both respond after long or random periods of time. After 40 mins or couple of hours or 4 hours just random long periods of time. Now, the first thought in my mind was - oh they're not interested.

BUT with one girl after me trying to move on from her because I didn't feel connected to her during the date and didn't text her afterwards (trying to get over her), she texted me if I remember her and that she'll show me pictures of her trip the next time we have lunch.

-- I didn't immediately ask her for setting up the date but wanted to build rapport while texting and same shit - long replies, and after I sent a joke, no response. I could send a follow up with a question that yields a response and probably get one, again after a long time. FYI she doesn't have read receipts on.

The 2nd girl was taking a long time to respond to messages and the same voice in my head was saying, forget it she's not interested, then I sent her a text asking her out no response (left on read), but then I followed up, because why not, I'm trying to learn and figure this out... And I get a response and a date set up...

TL;DR Can someone please explain to me texting etiquette, and to or not gauge response of interest based on texts. Should I put stock in girls' response times in general,
