Fake confidence is unnatural. You're basically qualifying yourself, often times indirectly bragging and trying to convince yourself and others you're as awesome as you're trying to be. This is why I never agreed with fake it till you make it. It comes from a place of insecurity.

Real confidence comes from making peace with our insecurities. For people like me who are insecure about looks, fix what you can, and stop worrying about what you can't fix because thinking about it won't do anything but tank your confidence. And once you've reached that sense of inner peace/contentment (meditation helps), you'll find you don't feel the need to prove anything to anyone. You'll find that when someone shits on you, you'll not feel the urge to defend yourself because you know it's not true. You let your actions do the talking. Ask yourself, how would you react if you were a 10?
