If a girl tells you no because she has plans or is generally noncomittal just move on. It's usually because she isn't interested. No reason to keep putting effort into someone who can't even counter with another time to meet.

I think she may be interested in you, but not football. There's a real chance that she just told you she liked watching football so you would find her interesting. Naturally, she wouldn't want to watch football with you and show that she actually knows little about it. The fact that she's responding is a good thing.

I would lighten it up a little and send a ridiculous text that she can't say 'maybe' to. Like, "Hey, wanna steal a hot air balloon this Friday and see if we can make to Hawaii by Monday?"

She'll either say yes, or no, or nothing. If she says nothing or just laughs, forget it, she's not interested. If she says yes, that's great! Text her Friday and say the hot air balloon thing didn't work out, but the bar is still open. If she says no and gives you another excuse, she's not interesting or giving you the runaround and not interested
