Seems to be a general consensus that bars and dance clubs are the worst places to meet someone. Seems contradictory, but think about it: they spend hours getting prepared, have an idea of the perfect man they want to meet and refuse to settle for less, and if they are in a group there's no urgency to talk to any other singles. If you're able to talk to her where she can hear you over the loud music, cheering sports fan, or group playing drinking games it's probably going to be even more difficult try to throw game on her since she's already heard every line in the book.

If you can handle her "bitch shield" and she doesn't leave after 30 seconds try and group her into different categories: dateable, ONS, or future drinking buddy (and maybe strip club or bikini bar buddy). Wingmen can be a blessing or a curse. The town drunk may be great talking to one chick but a complete disaster to another. If she asks why you came alone just say you invited some friends but they weren't interested so you wanted to watch the game or play some pool and darts. Sometimes it's ok to approach a group of women, but I wouldn't suggest more than 2 and if it's mixed guys and girls then you may have less success since you could be cockblocked by her gay best friend. Usually the girls sipping drinks and looking around the place, bored out of their minds, and not even talking to each other, just looking at their phones wouldn't mind a guy to talk to. Don't be worried about rejection. Some nights you might get the cold shoulder 80-90% of the time.

Look at it this way. Girls expect to be hit on a night out. So don't worry about being 'out of place'. It's better to stand out. Be the guy who is different from the rest. Have the balls to approach that 5-set on your own. Don't compliment them or offer them drinks. Just go up there, make a statement as an opener, and try and have fun.

That said, I agree with other posts in this thread - bars like that are a shitty place to try and pick up in. If you have to do it, treat it like a numbers game. The last time I was in a situation like that, I approached 10 sets and I eventually got some really strong interest from a girl, but not till the very last set.
