So obviously it's great to get the girl talking about what she's really passionate about - dreams, interests, career aspirations etc. You can find out whether you're interested in her as a person. On the flip side, talking about your own aspirations is a very effective polarisation - either she will be interested and want to talk to your further, or not, and you move on to someone who you can have mutual interest in.

But how do you get to this conversation topic during an approach? E.g day game at a university? Finding out her degree/major is a very helpful but at the same time very boring and AFC question. However, flat out saying "Hi, I'm blah, what are you passionate about?" feels very awkward and constructed, and a little intimidating for them. Like it should be done more naturally and with a smoother progression of the conversation.

So how do you move onto these topics gracefully/not bluntly and awkwardly?
