Tired of coffee dates

Coffee dates are really the most watered-down, low-investment dates of all. You're going out in the day time, sitting in a brightly lit environment, with uncomfortable seating, and a staff that has very little incentive to make your time more pleasant, and then drinking stimulants that work absolutely in opposition to the relaxed demeanor that you want to convey.

Instead, go out for a drink in the evening. (Or if you're underage, do pizza or something.) You want to be in a more comfortable environment, in more ambient lighting, projecting the cool and fun vibe... and as a bonus, since it's already evening and you're out having fun, it's much easier to say "hey, wanna come back to my place and check out that (art/album/knick-knack) that I was telling you about?"

I tend to do coffee dates later after work. You can get a coffee date going at 6 or 7, get to see what she's like, and by the time the coffee kicks in at 8, go out and do something else. It's not that hard to say "hey, have you been to <local park>?" "Yes/no" "Ahh, well I've never been, so we should go" or "You haven't? Wow, you have to see it; it's beautiful!"

From there, head out to drinks or seclude her in the park and get more personal with her before hitting another venue or taking her home.

If you want to keep the entirety of the date laid back, then just ask her to get a drink (a drink, not drinks) at a local bar. A drink is innocent and fun, drinks are for sex at your place. If she has that intention, then she'll get drinks, even if you invite her for "a drink". Get it?

It's hard to tell what could use improvement without more information. One thing I can tell you is that I never go to a first date without having the cube ready.
