What stifles your voice is tension; it's like squeezing a hose and expecting the water to come out properly.

'Pushing' through a kinked hose sounds awful, you want to relax your muscles (your chest, throat, jaw, tongue) to loosen it up so it can vibrate. That's how your voice becomes deep and resonant and why it's important; it's a direct connection to your self-esteem and how relaxed you are in a given situation.

You want to recognize how your body is when you can perform well and access that in situations you feel pressure; you have a point of comparison to feel what the difference is. Again, it is 'relaxing' but specifically what areas you tense up, you can be aware of and manage consciously for the time being.

through practice I'd say lol, the good thing is that you are conscious about it now, start in low pressure setting and work your way up

Maybe it’s because of the tension, try to loose your body so you will be able to draw breath much deeper. You should also smile and slow down, if you can manage your body to relax and open to have fun, mind will naturally follow.

Tonality plays a large part in attraction and seduction. It conveys energy, friendliness and confidence.

While pauses and a deepness of voice can be seductive and a turn on.

It sounds like you haven’t learned how to control your tonality and voice yet. If your voice is high and flat, yeah, no wonder you’re getting friend zoned.
