I generally follow the advice that says to text strictly to set up dates. I think this texting approach is valid in the beginning as you’re still getting to know each other. It leaves a little mystery and makes the dates more fun. While I see the point, I’m wondering how to transition from this approach to something a little more involved as I get to know the person better.

For context, I’m a pretty busy person and usually am only able to schedule 1 (maximum 2) dates per week, especially in the beginning when I’m still getting to know someone.

I’m not huge on texting, but I definitely would like to keep some sort of rhythm in terms of checking in and just haven’t a casual chat. I don’t say that from a neediness perspective. I just feel like it’s hard for me/the person I’m seeing to establish as strong of a connection in the beginning when seeing each other so infrequently and following the whole only text to set dates advice. I find it especially difficult to make that transition after a few dates after both of us have grown used to this communication style.

I’d appreciate any advice on how to transition from the text to set dates exclusively approach to something a little more frequent with the goal being to stay connected/build a connection without coming off as needy and attention seeking.
