1) Very rarely do I function well socially. Most of the time it takes a few good conversations throughout the day to get me into my optimal "state". Some days, I just never reach that state, and usually give off bad signals such as fidgeting or bad eye contact/body language. Question is, have any of you experienced permanent changes, i.e. being able to be in that socializing state day after day without the need to "warm-up" every time?

2) How do you get better at making situational statements? Not trying to get robotic, but I recognize the importance of situation statements in spontaneous group conversations and also casual 1 on 1 conversations. I find myself always asking some sort of question that can be answered with either "yes", "no", or "I don't know". As a result, I start feeling less confident about what I can add to a conversation and end up just remaining silent because I have nothing witty or fun to add. How would I overcome this?

A little more detail: I know being interested in the other person, listening properly, and sounding passionate is important for conversations, but sometimes the setting doesn't allow some sort of in-depth exchange of thoughts or opinions, but instead random things like "Hey look at that guy he's so weird!" are thrown around a lot.
