So I love this sub because I think that it teaches how to boost your confidence and become a more interesting person. After reading this sub for a while I've been working on my confidence side, I'm no pro, but I think I've got some progress.

I recently moved to a new town after finishing my graduate studies. I love the bar scene, so I just went for it today and visited one by myself with hopes of finding a good bar to hang around in the weekend. I sat by the bar and ordered a drink.

So there was this attractive blond woman (looked older than me) who was with a group of people dancing. I was looking for other places on my phone, this one wasn't really packed and looked like it was a slow day.

Then she comes back and sits next to me (she had her purse there before I got there). After 2-3 mins I decided talk to her and ask if she knew any bars nearby because I was new in town. Then it led us to talk about other things (no flirting, just being fun).

Soon enough came her friend who (was a bit tipsy and) worked at the bar. The 3 of us talked for a while and had a good time, but then they decided to dance and left to the dance floor.

A random guy pulled me to the dance floor to dance with the women (he and other men who unsuccessfully approached these women and were watching my interaction with tem), but I was LITERALLY looking for bars nearby, and I had in mind visiting other bars tonight (got work tomorrow).

So I went to the dance floor, small talked to her tipsy friend and then went to her to say goodbye. She was really surprised, and soon enough she offered to give me her number. At the end she hugged me and gave me two cheek kisses.

Three important things:

First, I never flirted with her, but rather maintained an entertaining conversation because my whole plan for the night was to visit the bars in the town. I did escalate in the sense of getting into more details about her and myself (nothing too personal though).

Second, I believe her friend played a role there, looks like they were just trying to have fun, but the fact that she "approved me" gave me a good position to continue the (unintentional) seduction phase.

Third, I am not oblivious of what was happening there, I know I was talking to her and even noticed that she leaned to touch me (kino, thanks seddit), but my plan was different, so I guess she liked the fact that I had enough confidence and balls to go and say "you know what, I really like you, but I have to go and find more bars, see ya".

I believe my (unintentional and uninterested) approach and behavior were two things that posed as confidence. In reality, I just went there to have a good time.
