I've been living in an English speaking country for around 4 years and overall my English isn't that bad. I was really focused on succeeding in school/college for all these years instead of socializing with people that are fluent in English. As I'm having more free time now, I'm trying to start picking up girls, but here's a problem that I faced. My level of English is good enough for casual conversation, but once it gets more intimate/serious, I just can't express myself as much as I want and can't keep up with the speed of the conversation. I end up spending too much time thinking about either my next response or understanding what my conversation partner has said, which results in girls either getting creeped out or me ending up with giving some stupid/generic response that doesn't allow the conversation to progress. It would've been completely okay if I had an accent that would indicate to girls that I'm not a native speaker, but the thing is that I don't have an accent. I've been working really hard for all these years to get rid of it as I was told that it affects my chances of getting a job. I've already started reading more books just to expand my vocabulary, but is there anything else I can do? I'm not a pick up artist or something, so on top of ordinary anxiousness of approaching women I have to deal with problems with my English, which ultimately destroys my confidence. Maybe some of you have some "remedies" for me, or maybe some book recommendations to expand my vocabulary? Thank you guys in advance.
