Recently I noticed this thing that often happens to me after breaking up with a girlfriend, stopping casual ones, or being rejected by a girl. The girl feels like she has to tell me what I did "wrong" to her.

Have you guys come across the same?

When I mean rejection, it is with someone who you've already met and you're casually talking to but not quite friends, then ask her out and she says no for whatever reasons. Not the rejection on approach.

So for example they would say things like:

"You don't say nice things to a girl you're just casually dating" - after I said I didn't want to get serious with her

"You shouldn't go on dates with someone unless you're sure about wanting to be with her" - different girl, same reason as above

"You should be clear with what you wanted from the beginning instead" - she had a point, I didn't say I wanted a fwb thing

"I respect myself too much to be friends with benefits with you. By the way You should also never ask that to any girl" - ok, this one was after a short relationship that wasn't going so well but the sex was good and we liked talking to each other

One that puzzled me a lot, with a girl I used to cuddle and get frisky with (no sex) and watch movies - after I made a comment about how winter was perfect for cuddling and getting frisky on the couch (after which she stopped our thing): "That is a very inappropriate thing to say to anyone at any time"...

Don't get me wrong, some of the things they say are actually helpful and I have learned from them. But the rest Just felt like they were saying them to either make peace with themselves, or to hope I had been a more "malleable" person or something.

Very few have just not said things like that, and we've gone our own ways without much fuss and that's it.

So yeah, any thoughts?
