Hello everyone.

There is this young and pretty waitress at the local pub I like to go alone from time to time. I always tend to go there late when most of the tables are unoccupied. Whenever I go, if she is there too, I notice that she is into me and gives me various signs of interest: she lingers near my table longer, pacing back and forth or simply standing nearby, directly checking me out as she moves. I always sense that her eyes are on me when she is close and whenever I lift my head up from my phone, our eyes meet. I even sensed that she compared our heights once when I got up (I’m short, around 170 cm with shoes on, and she is shorter than me). Tonight she gave some signs again. We made some eye contacts and in one case she fixed her hair afterwards. Later our eyes got locked for maybe two seconds as she approached my table. It was awkward, I tried to grin slightly but probably couldn’t, however she came to the table and asked if I wanted another drink, sort of awkwardly. I assume she wouldn’t have asked that if our eyes hadn’t been locked in the first place. The eye contact was kind of tense and it was like she needed to break the ice at that moment with an excuse. I broke the eye contact because I didn’t want to give a strong impression at that time, which would mean I should make a move soon as the tension would have grown.

Here I’m 100% sure that I’m not confusing typical kind and friendly waitress behaviour to get tips and attract customers with all that above. I’m experienced enough to distinguish between the two. My question is, how would you proceed from here? What would your moves be? I’m socially anxious and have trouble making first moves. If that stage is somehow passed, I’m fun to be around with a good sense of humor and stuff. I don’t want to turn this into an awkward situation where I make a move in the presence of her co-workers and feel like the spotlight is on me. Similarly, I don’t want to make the whole thing awkward and ban myself from going there again.
