nudge her, start a game of tic tac toe on her notebook, that way when she studies she'll remember you, and if she wins, cross out her marks and make it look like you win, she'll laugh. that ideas not even mine but it works.

IN class? STFU and listen to the professor. After the class, ask her something about the class. That will be impossible if you don't listen to the professor and spend the whole period making goo goo eyes at a girl.

On the way out of the room, ask her something like "hey did you understand that bit where the professor talked about the Popplemeyer Discontinuity of 1683?" Assuming of course that the Popplemeyer Discontinuity was discussed in the lecture.

You both have at least one known common interest: passing the class. Use it.

You know how passing notes was fun back in high school? Guess what...it still is. I actually got a girl's number this way. She's in three of my classes and we were talking about one of them before class started. During class I passed her a note saying "hey I just realized I don't even know your name, and we have three classes together. What's that about?" We went back and forth for a bit and I told her "we'll finish this conversation later, meet me outside." She said something about having a lot of work to do later, so she left me her number. Win.

I like the tic-tac-toe idea too. I think I tried that one, but nothing happened. Always next time.

Sit down beside her and smile.

When you see the class is in "unexpected brake" - the prof is rambling on something useless that is not going to be on the final...then make a comment.

Make it a relative and funny comment...or just ask her for her name.

It all depends on the situation but don't talk too much or disrupt the class. Then after class, talk to her some more.

Stay alpha and aloof at first. Ask a few basic questions and turn up the heat a little at a time. It helps to make a couple witty comments here or there, but don't be disruptive. This is one of the cases where it really doesn't make any difference what you say.
