The following has happened to me quite a few times, and each time I feel kind of lost. I really have no issue making interesting conversation with people (or girls in particular) however, when a female friend gives me a phone number of some random HB she wants me to date I always get a little anxious.

I dont know this person, or anything about her. I always imagine the conversation going something like "Hey, its Oma_ster. I got your # from <random friend>. How's it going" "Oh hey Oma_ster! I'm fine, thanks. you?" which would quickly lead to a dead end conversation.

I was wondering how you guys handle these types of situations? Do you have a specific routine you perform every time?

TL;DR: Help me talk to hot girls I know nothing about on the phone for the first time.
