What do your friends think about PUA?

It's not something that I bring up or talk about with friends.

As for it being manipulative, I don't think that's the case at all if you're doing it correctly and honestly. The whole point is to present a better version of yourself in a world of fast paced dating where you often have a very short amount of time to make a good impression.

I virtually haven't changed at all around friends and people that have known me for awhile, but my social anxiety when it comes to expressing interest in girls has mostly gone away and I can have a good first date with virtually any girl that I can agree to go on a date with me. Before I would finish dates having not broken the touch barrier at all and having not kissed the girl.

These things were very unnatural for me and through some hard work and introspection I made them natural to my personality. I don't think I'm any less deserving of love and sex just because I'm introverted and naturally pretty shy, but the people that deride online sources like this subbreddit are basically saying that without realizing it.

Obviously there are some bad apples and the whole TRP thing is ridiculous, but PUA as a whole has changed drastically and most of the relevant dating advice can be found in Models, which basically can be summarized by encouraging readers to be honest with themselves and their intentions.

I talk about concepts but never use the same language. I think there is a lot of stigma against it but if you just discuss your ideas about women in ordinary language seems fine. For example I'd never say cold approach, kino, hb9, calculating logistics beforehand, etc with my any of my friends. That said my female friends all take interest in my romantic life and absolutely love hearing what basically amounts to a pua field report. They even give suggestions (which I usually ignore because theyre from the wrong perspective).

Basically couch everything in normal language and don't ever make things sound premeditated. Premeditation kills the romance and seems creepy. Keep in mind women discuss these things with each other nonstop so as long as you normal language and don't sound manipulative youre good

All my friends now are puas or high statues guys that get laid a lot. I don't have time for people who are critical of pickup. If your critical of pick up then you are critical of me. Fuck them. My goals and ambitions are to big to get dragged down by negativity.

I have also found the only people that are critical of pick up are beta/provider men, which I don't want around me anyways.

Even girls I introduce to pick up love it and think it's amazing.

Mention if you like... if not, who cares what they think so long as they understand your point. I personally don't believe in PUA. Sure some of it may work but it's generally superficial and holds very little water. Models by Manson is really all you need to know. From there out, experience is your best friend. Reading and reading all these PUA advice manuals and self help shit can just make it even more complicated than it was to begin with.

It's not a rational argument, you can't talk someone out of it. In popular media, pickup has been associated with /r/niceguys or /r/TheRedPill

When you talk about this with women, they associate pickup / seduction with every uncomfortable approach / assault they have had to deal with in their life (and I don't know any women who haven't had to deal with this). So, they have a lifetime of anger built up. There is NOTHING you can say that will match this in intensity.

So, talk about other things, like, say, self-improvement, health, eating right, making friends, talking to friends that you just met.

Just don't call it pickup

Best advice I can give is to just mention it casually to your friends and see their reaction. Other than that, if they dismiss it or not interested then let the topic go. Some people don't wanna be forced into doing soemthing they dont wanna do, even if YOU think it'll be helpful for them
