A strange question with an even stranger story so tldr, I have this huge infatuation with my co-worker and for nearly 3 years we've been close friends. I told her I liked her but with almost zero to no confidence in the beginning and she turned me down. However as the years went by and those feelings resurfaced and pretty much took over because while I thought I had buried them away, I was just hiding from it. Long story short I told her this time with Full confidence and she didn't deny them. After some coaxing and somehow being brave enough to kiss her, she revealed later on that while she does have a crush on me she still says she has her reservations with me and still wants to remain friends and doesn't want to hurt me. Though it seems while she says all that, she's simultaneously hurting me by entertaining the idea that we can be more than friends. I understand she shouldn't just be an object of affection for myself, and if she doesn't bend the way I want her she is the overlying problem. That's not how I should do things I understand but I can't help wondering what she wants from me. Should I show that I can be a true friend first before a lover? Or should I just focus on myself and let her come to me? Perhaps I'm overthinking all this and I should continue to act how I am? I'd just like someone's insight, and I'll be free to answer any questions regarding my situation

Thank you in advance!
