Trying to get into the club for free or at least get hooked up.

easy, after several experiences of door guys not letting them in for free or letting them cut thru line, they learned to start being friendly with the security guard and chatting them up. So whenever they need a cut in or free cover or some favor, they ask the security guard knowing he'll ask the front door guy/bouncer to hook them up.

I see this ALL the time. Girls hanging out and flirting with fat bald security guards . Is it an authority or value thing?

Not a whole lot of value in examining this, really.

Security guards allow them access to clubs. Which saves them money. Hence, they schmooze the security guards. Just like they schmooze guys for free drinks.

And knowing this does what for you? Not much, really.
