So I've been browsing this sub for a while now (and single even longer) in the hopes that when I get a date I'll know what to say; how to act; how to progress the date, that kinda thing.

I've saved loads of posts and links, and watched various videos about 'what girls want' and other such bs.

Two weeks ago I got the chance to put everything I've learned into action on a date with a girl from work, and yknow what happened? I couldn't remember anything. Not one post, link, video, or piece of advice I'd read.

I also fucking nailed it. We had a great time, drank, went to some clubs, and met up with some others from work. Then we went back to hers. We've had 2 dates since, and a few evenings spent together chilling.

Why am I posting this? Because I'm proof that it doesn't matter what you read online, or what you're told, or how you're expected to behave. There is no cheat sheet, no quick fix or easy route to dating, despite what anyone may say. If you're too busy trying to remember what you've read, you'll come across false and unnatural.

So my advice is this: use whatever advice/tricks/tips you've read to get that date, but just live in the moment and enjoy it whilst you're there. If the spark is there then by just being yourself you'll turn it into a fire. If it's not there, why would you want to force it with false bravado and Internet tips?
