Hi everyone, I need an honest take on a situation with a girl I’ve known for a while. She is part of a friend group, and I joined It. We started as friends and we talked mire or less, but lately the dynamic has shifted and I’m trying to understand if I’m in the Friendzone or if there’s a massive amount of tension building up. I’m naturally a bit shy and reserved, and in the past I’ve been quite open with her about my life and my exes, but recently I’ve changed my vibe by being more assertive, teasing her more, and not being the "nice guy" who always agrees. Twice in the last week, we ended up alone in my car after hanging out with friends. The first time she said she didn’t want to go home, so I asked if she wanted to join me, cause I was going for a beer. She agreed and we talked for hours—from 1:30 AM to 4:30 AM. It wasn’t just awkward silence; we had deep conversations, but there were these heavy pauses where the tension was through the roof. If there sas silence, she laughed and said It was weird. During these 3-hour sessions, she rarely looked me in the eye for more than 2 seconds, looking down and giggling nervously while fidgeting constantly with items, and she never once touched her phone. At one point, she looked at me and said, "You're a mysterious guy, I can't figure you out," which makes me think she’s viewing me differently now. I’ve started taking charge lately; one night after, she said she didn't want anything, but I told her "I'm going there anyways, so you will wait for me" and bought her a beer and a pastry anyway. She didn’t want them at the beginning cause I paid for them the first time, and she said she had a “debt”. She took the pastry home instead of eating it there, and when I joked "Now that you have a bigger debt, I have leverage over you” she laughed and called me a mf. Hi everyone, I need an honest take on a situation with a girl I’ve known for a while. We’ve always been part of a small friend group, but lately the dynamic has shifted and I’m trying to understand if I’m in the Friendzone or if there’s a massive amount of tension building up. I’m naturally a bit shy and reserved, and in the past I’ve been quite open with her about my life and my exes, but recently I’ve changed my vibe by being more assertive, teasing her more, and not being the "nice guy" who always agrees. Twice in the last week, we ended up alone in my car after hanging out with friends and we talked for hours—from 1:30 AM to 4:30 AM. It wasn’t just awkward silence; we had deep conversations, but there were these heavy pauses where the tension was through the roof. During these 3-hour sessions, she rarely looked me in the eye for more than 2 seconds, looking down and giggling nervously while fidgeting constantly with the gear stick and the dashboard, and she never once touched her phone. At one point, she looked at me and said, "You're such a mysterious guy, I can't figure you out," which makes me think she’s viewing me differently now. I’ve started taking charge lately; one night she said she didn't want anything, but I told her "I'm deciding tonight" and bought her a beer and a pastry anyway. She took them home instead of eating them there, and when I joked "Now I have leverage over you," she laughed and called me an "a-hole." However, I get mixed signals: I teased her about her bad posture and when she complained her back hurt, I jokingly asked "Are you asking me for a massage?" and she hit me with a "Hell nah" while laughing. She’s also much colder over text, using random stickers to dodge questions, but then in person she’s always the one asking the group where I am. I want to escalate physically but I'm shy, so I was thinking about using the "posture" thing to actually put my hand on her shoulder or back to "correct" her sitting position next time. Is a 3-hour car talk until 4 AM just a "friend" move, or is she waiting for me to make a move? Does the "mysterious" comment mean I've successfully shifted the dynamic? I don't want to ruin the friendship, but the chemistry in that car feels too real to ignore. She made other comments as well, mostly on chat such as “take less steroids”, and some similar jokes about my body. She refuses to go out directly me and her, and makes it happen only if we meet out frends first and it seems a natural switch. In chat she is teasing and joking, but kinda colder, IRL she is much more shy and there’s clearly tension. Am I making a film? or do u think something might come out?
