What's a good idea for a first date?

imo never go to a movie for a first date if you want to get to know her.

Me personally as a girl i’d suggest going on a walk (maybe get food before or after), places with a handful of food trucks, summer markets, or mini golf. really anything activity wise.

or list 5 things you want to do, send her your list and ask her to pick her top 3 and then you can pick out of that three.

A movie date is a bad idea. You can go to the movies with a friend, but a date? The setting won't allow you to actually talk and get to know each other.

Even just going for a walk is better, but the top two date ideas that I found work the best (and consistently) are:

Drinks at a classy bar that has dimmed lighting and a secluded corner to sit in for some privacy and intimacy
Going to a playground after dark, when there shouldn't be any children there anymore, and just playing - it's especially good if the playground has a nest swing that the two of you can get on together.

I'm currently straight edge, so the second one is my staple. It's also cheaper and seems to work better for me. If you really want to, you can bring some paper or plastic cups and a cheap wine to combine the playground date with drinking wine on a bench in public, which is actually a decent date idea on it's own as well (I've actually tested all of these and got laid, so I understand this may sound weird, but it's not hypothetical).
