Please bear with me as this post is long but I feel I need to start from the beginning in order to give a clear picture to readers.
During most of my school life, I feel I was just disliked by many of peers. I was occasionally bullied (verbally) because of my name, looks (was a bit fat), and my nerdy behavior (I played a lot of computer games). A lot of the bullies were actually girls now that I look back on it. Because of this I remember avoiding talking to girls because i thought any girl I would talk to would just bully me. This was grade one to grade six.
Then along came grade seven. Grade seven was by far my worst school year. Despite attending a new school, the bullying started from day one, and was carried through for every single day of the year. I remember thinking to myself on the first day, I am not going to say anything, just going to keep quiet, behave normally, and only speak when spoken too in order to avoid being a bully target. Of course, it didn't work. A group of girls in the class targeted me the whole year, and bullied me about my looks (they said I looked like a squirrel), and my gaming habits. I had not done anything to offend them at all. I still don't understand why I was the target of their bullying, I wasn't even the one to talk to them first. The whole year I just internalized their bullying by "ignoring" them. Overtime, this completely crushed my self-esteem, self-worth and built up severe social anxiety within me. Because of this, I felt (and still feel) that people I don't already know will judge me, and dislike me if I approach them. Because of this I never approach new people, and find it extremely hard to make new friends (male and female).
Then along came high school, which was a big improvement from previous years in terms of bullying. However, the bullying from previous years had severely crippled me socially and at this new school I had very few friends transferring from my old schools. I had to make new friends. For the first three years, I hung out with one friend during all lunch breaks. I knew all the people in my classes, but we weren't friends to the point where we'd hang out outside classes. Eventually I found out, that my only friend was a bit of a manipulative psychopath (this is another story on it's own), and had to find a new friend. I don't know how, but soon after I managed to find a group of people with similar interests as myself. We had a few major things in common now that I think about it: didn't talk to girls, struggled to make new friends, nerds, stuck together in our own group. These are the people that I hung with for the rest of high school and currently in my social life. Despite my fear of meeting new people, I somehow managed to get a few girls to notice me and make them interested through just straight holding eye contact. One of them was a very pretty girl and had quite a few guys chasing after her. Looking back, she chased me right throughout high school and gave me so many opportunities to approach her. I distinctly remember her standing, facing, and staring directly at me. Because of my social anxiety and complete lack of experience with girls, I could not even utter a word to her before she slowly walked off. I seriously felt so bad for her. She continued to chase even after this by giving me eye contact, and other body language. Ridiculous, I know. Throughout high school, I very rarely talked to any girls, and whenever I did, I didn't know how to flirt so it would always be about school work (a business-like, formal conversation).
Fast forward to college, I pursued engineering. Naturally my class had very few girls in it and, I wasn't really attracted to them so I talked to them while I had to for projects and assignments but it was nothing flirty. I went to a few parties, however being the quiet and reserved person I was, I stuck with my class friends and just danced with them. I didn't like the loud atmosphere and all the drunk people around me. I wanted to leave after just two hours.
My current state after college: -Wasn't able to make many new friends. I hang out with my high school friends still. -Very inexperienced with women because of my social anxiety and lack of talking to women during my educational life -I am able to confidently hold a conversation with everyone if its business-like (has a purpose). I struggle to hold a conversation in a social environment where I meet and get to know new people. -I think many people my age find me boring because I took about work, technology, business and stuff like that. People my age are into a lot of music movies, alcohol and drugs and stuff like that. I have found that I get along with people older then me (like in their 30s). -Have no real friends that are girls
Could I please get some help on how to improve my current situation. I really want to improve my skills with women as this is something that I have completely missed out on my entire life. Obviously, I am still a virgin who has never kissed or even held hands with a girl (apart from in team building exercises). Side note: I do not like loud environments like nightclubs and bars. Where could I go apart from these places to meet relationship quality women?
