Instead of ignoring the conversation because the guy was confused by your "semi-clear" (likely unclear) statement, why don't you just call him up and clarify and be very clear this time?

Sounds like he wasn't upset but just confused so I don't understand why you'd think to ignore as the right way to pursue this.

Be more clear. If hes a virgin and not doing it because he wants to be a monk, then hes probably bad with woman and reading then "signals". So when you sent your signal anything short of "I want you and really like you and I want us to be more exclusive" hes probably not gonna get.

But if your afraid to do that and dont really care for labels then you can do the more indirect way of getting him to commit. Which is just essentially act like he is your BF and expect him to respond in kind. Now you cant really do this all at once to most guys as they'll see you as crazy but just over time start doing and expecting him to do stuff that is BF-y. If long enough time passes even if you dont say specifically your are BF and GF the context of the relationship will be there and you will essentially be that.
