Hypergamy doesn't care.

Unfortunately most men -- myself included -- aren't even aware the word hypergamy existed before marriage or divorce. Men are the true romantics; women love opportunistically.

It doesn't matter who plans or starts the divorce. Men and women suffer equally when left behind, especially if its unexpected as it is my case. In my opinion, the partner leaving copes with it better because by the time they make the decision they have already been mourning and processing the loss while the party left behind gets showered with a bucket of ice cold water when the news are brought up. Not all women are evil and not all men are pricks. Something happens in the person's that is leaving brain that makes them change and act as if nothing was happening but I believe that is just a defense mechanism because deep inside they are also stressed and sad. Just saying!

It is not me being against woman, this just what I see happening and one of the main causes is that man has much more to lose in a divorce.

Most of the time a woman can leave and start again in a much better situation. No incentive to do it properly.

As a man you have to be crazy to get married in today's world.

Same things happen with women. Men plan for however long behind our backs to leave (usually secretly cheating). We women humiliate ourselves trying to fix everything they say is wrong with us that made the marriage unfixable (and/or made them have to cheat). They leave anyway.
