Men will use a woman for a sex placeholder whilst looking for their dream girl. I know, because it's happened to me. When they find her, all their "I don't want a relationship" excuses will go out the window and they will move fast to lock her down and wife her up.

I was going to repost this. Glad to see it here. Many lessons. A few being:

Be honest with yourself about what you want and if a man tells you he’s looking for something else, have the self-esteem to walk. It’s the philosophy of “when someone shows you who they are believe them the first time” (Maya Angelou).

The dating approach needs to be about weeding men out who aren’t willing to meet your needs and desires and who don’t want what you want. You also don’t over invest emotionally until you’ve determined this. You’re not trying to win a man over, convince him how great you are, or try to make him fall in love with you.

I don't know if it's playing the cards right (if you mean getting the guy to propose), i think it's about dropping the guy when the signs become obvious.

Guy who didn't know what he wanted is going to get engaged to someone else

We dated for 9 months and I ended it because he was messing me about and said he didn't know what he wanted and he was bad at developing relationships.

I told him that when he met someone he liked, he would know.

Anyway we stayed friends (which was probably a mistake because I liked him a lot) and he recently told me he met someone and he thinks he's going to marry her. Less than a year after I broke it off.

I'm happy for him but also it hurts so much. Less than a year and he's just walked into a great relationship for him, despite telling me he's a commitment-phobe, and I'm still stuck on the dating carousel of despair.

I'm not religious but I feel like god is punishing me :( I feel so deeply unloveable. Like I will never find my person.

How do you stay positive?
