Let's discuss leveling up spiritually

Since it's not possible to post a picture with text, I'm going to have the discussion starter here in the comments.

I'm not religious and this isn't a post about religion. This is a post about taking time, finding peace, reflecting on your life and your desires. This is important if you want to have quality friendships and relationships in your life. It's important to make time to calm down and center yourself. Reflection helps you be a better partner and friend. Knowing what you want and where you want to go in life helps you find friends and partners that are a good match for you. These are just some of the reasons that we should take a little time for some sort of a a spiritual or reflective or calming practice.

Here are some things that I have done:

Meditation Mindfulness sitting quietly in the sun or listening to some music with your eyes closed and relaxing Breathing practices Gardening without distractions Going for a walk without distractions Sitting and listening to the birds Taking some time out in nature Taking a long bath with attention to sound and scent and lighting Moving meditation like yoga or Tai chi Even sitting and having a nice fragrant cup of tea and enjoying it completely

Any well-rounded person should have some sort of a practice that they engage in to calm and center themselves regularly. What are some of the reasons for your spiritual/meditative/calming practice , or starting one? What are some of the things that you like to do or might like to do?

Yes, let's talk about this! This year I hope to do more yoga. Also, I want to use the lunar cycle as a way to reflect upon my life. During the waning/new moon I direct my energy to identifying and eliminating toxic/negative things from my life. That means meditating, changing existing habits, and removing bad people/influences from my life. During the waxing/full moon I direct my energy to welcoming, attracting, and appreciating the wonderful things in life. I take that part of the cycle as a challenge to actively embark on new projects or more fully dedicate myself to ones I've already taken on. What I love about the lunar cycle is that it happens so many times a year. It reminds me that we have many chances to improve our lives in ways big or small.

I'm not religious myself either. Also I strongly dislike organized religions in particular.

That being said, the religions that are more focused on nature and its cycles tend to be more female friendly. It is not casual so many young girls are now interested in Paganism or Wicca, etc. I think there is a wave of rediscovery of older traditions because they resemble -at least a little- of a matriarchal mindset.

Without taking the religion part, it makes so much more sense to me to organize my time based on seasons, weather, menstrual cycles, etc.

I have organized my month activities based on my menstrual cycle and I already have so much more energy and I'm more at peace because I'm not working against my own body anymore.
