Yes, if they feel less than you, be prepared for a bumpy ride, a ride not worth taking. When my friend graduated and was lined up with a lucrative position, her nvm dumped her after admitting he’s been stringing her along for so many years because he didn’t want to be alone.

Since the beginning she COmMunICatEd how her goal was marriage and kids. Goes to show you how even if you talk about it they feel no remorse to use and toss away. He only left her because he had another girl lined up (she was homeless). I honestly believe that because she was high achieving, he felt less as a man (he was). I think this is true for most men except the obvious leeches. That’s why ALWAYS remember to date up!

There was a happy ending. From what she shows me and what I know about him he’s a possible hvm, the exact thing we strive for here. ALSO, she found him after 2-3 months of not being with her ex nvm. I really want to run into her ex just to tell him she found someone better in a few months 😂

Also sis, don’t settle for a broke man. My mom took this route and she says don’t give yourself a hard life when you don’t need to.

"don't give yourself a hard life when you don't need to" exactly, my dad told my mom she could do whatever she wanted, work, not work, and we lived in a nice house near the elementary school. my dad did not spoil us with material goods, but we always had literally everything we needed and then a little bit of what we wanted, like a Nintendo 64 at Christmas. Not a lot in the way of wants, but everything we needed even though he could have provided everything we wanted. I'm pretty grateful for that because now I'm not mega spoiled LOL although I do provide myself with everything I want ;) but I had to realize, even if a guy is really really nice, what if I lose my job? Is he going to be able to support us? Is he going to be stingy? so I'm single and I'm young and I am attractive, so there's absolutely no reason to date a broke guy. There's nothing wrong with wanting to not be homeless later on in life

Oh without a doubt most of them won't be fit, but that's the great thing you aren't obligated to date them even if they try to make you feel bad about it. You don't even have to tell them your reasons. I am this way in my mid-twenties, I used to feel really bad and I would give a heartfelt explanations to the guys who I didn't want to date or I would just date them anyway because I felt it was mean . What I learned is that life is short and life is fleeting and you're never going to date the right guy if you waste your time on the wrong ones, even just texting them back and forth.

your comment also brings me back to my original point, they physically and mentally will not feel prepared to commit if they are broke. they may say they are, but men are super competitive and they will always feel like they can't provide for you what Johnny down the street does for his wife, or he will notice Dave taking his girlfriend out to a nice dinner and deep down he feels resentment and inferiority which bleeds out into him treating you like you are disposable, or he will dump you unpredictably later on when he is no longer broke and you will never see it coming. This happens all the time with successful men. it's not that you don't have value as you are, it's that some men will latch onto the prettiest girl who gives them attention until he is set up in life enough to have what he "really wants/deserves". do I believe these men are bad men? No, they genuinely are just looking out for themselves and men don't see a problem with casual dating or a relationship that ends, I think we've all experienced that a guy who breaks up with you and is pretty "meh"about it. men live in the moment and they do what is best for them which is exactly what women need to do.

lastly, if you are having a lot of trouble I would seriously recommend reading the books all the rules and not your mother's rules by Ellen Fein and Sherrie Schneider, they will absolutely change your life. Be sure to also read why men love bitches and why men marry bitches. on a surface level, these books seem conniving, but once you have been in one dead end relationship after another you will find that the books really help you find a guy who actually really really loves you without having to go through all that.
