Because mgtow are a small danger to society that is acceptable to attack. They are selfish to the eyes of big government and greedy women. Once you buck the idea of being a tool, your former masters don't take that kindly.

A mgtow will not ruin himself into debt pursuing or maintaining a woman, thus big business hates him.

A mgtow will not sacrifice himself for a women in any way. Thus women hate him.

A mgtow pursues his own goals and objectives, thus tradcons hate him.

A mgtow isn't concerned with his nation or religions purpose for him, thus most religions hate him.

A mgtow isn't worried about minority or majority issues, thus race baiters and racial supremacist hate him.

To be mgtow is to be free and being free pisses off those who want working gears in a machine. How dare someone ask "Well what are going to do for me?"

But higher than the hate.... They fear you because you are right and the idea is slowly spreading.

So here's my theory:

A lot of men's scale of worth and value is how successful they are with women. This is why virgins and incel types are typically thought of as being losers and weaklings. If you get a lot of girls you're doing things right and are superior to a lot of men. If you're MGTOW you're measuring success with a different scale. Chad can't feel high and mighty when comparing himself to a MGTOW who has a lot of wealth and lives a happy solitary life. Beta male losers who have finally obtained a girlfriend once again feel bad against a MGTOW because the MGTOW is without the one thing that gives the beta self worth yet he's still accepting of that.

Basically men with low self worth will try to feel better about themselves with their past or present success with women, regardless of how lacking they are in the other areas of their life.

I think some guys are caught up in the blue pill lifestyle in such a way that escape isn't really an option anymore. They may not like their wife, their girlfriend, their life, heck even their own kids probably annoy the hell out of them. So, they develop a dislike of MGTOW because to them it represents an opportunity that has passed by.

I have buddies that have been divorced twice and lost everything still chasing tale. It's a mindset, they think it makes them alpha and the envy of other men...especially if they bag a good looking woman. When I point out she has her drug addicted children living with her and she can barely stay employed or pay her rent it means nothing as long as she looks good, they are going to straighten her out. Reminds me of Cool Hand Luke....some men just can't be reached!

The best Mgtows i know don't even know about the existence of this sub or the term. It's fun observing these guys just live out their philosophy without giving a fuck. I don't think its ideal telling everyone you're Mgtow, just live your life as you deem best cuz you will be criticized in whatever you do. Just look at Jesus Christ, all he did was proclaim to be the son of God and they fucked him up.

They experience cognitive dissonance when you reveal that they didn't actually have to go along with society's expectations for them.

Most people feel ashamed when they feel the need to change their opinion. It's an acknowledgement that they were wrong about something, and ppl don't like to be wrong. They like even less when they have to publicly admit they were wrong.

That's what cognitive dissonance is: two competing beliefs, in a situation where only one can exist. They're forced to choose between their way (i.e. what they're used to and indoctrinated to) versus the new way (i.e. they realize it's a better deal deep down, which angers them because they realize they made a poor judgement). Hearing that their way is actually the result of their brainwashing feels insulting to them-- it's like you basically said, "You dumbass, you actually believed that shit, didn't you?" i.e. it's a thought flow like this-- i.e. this is their thought process, speaking to themselves: "Hey, look here-- I was clearly wrong according to this person who is exposing me to a new way to think about it." --> "People who make wrong decisions are stupid." --> "I am stupid for believing this social indoctrination, ouch, that hurts my ego."

So, most of them choose to keep their position, and simply bash yours. Rather than thinking through it and acknowledging that they may have made a mistake by allowing themselves to be socially conditioned/brainwashed.

It's ultimately just an attempt to defend their ego from feeling hurt.
