She's right.

I know someone who's wife divorced him when he was about 45....she lives in the house he paid for with a toyboy in his 20's. He's not even allowed to drive down the street; the best he can do is drive past the entrance to the street and look at the home he slaved to buy that she enjoys. He has no home, he is renting; she lives in a home she did not pay for.

I worked with him for a couple of years and he got older. Retirement was approaching and he was hoping he might have enough money to buy a house (or put a deposit on one) for himself out of his pension lump sum.

He got a letter in the mail - she wants 50% of his pension lump sum. For her it will be a nice little bonus; she can maybe go on a world tour, buy a new car, whatever.

For him, this means spending the rest of his life renting and then becoming homeless when he's too old to work or loses a job.

His whole face went white when he saw the letter. (They sent it to him at work, we saw him open it. ) Poor bastard.

For me as a young man, this was the last straw. Up and down our street at least 4 families had gotten divorced that I knew of; in every case the wife was still in the family home and the husband was fucked (One now lived in a caravan in the backyard.)

I decided never to get married in Australia - and I never did.

When someone says you are being a coward, it more then likely means you are acting intelligently after accessing the risks and rewards.

Aka a shaming tactic like all the rest.

Of course, sometimes the man is truly running away because he is a coward, but that is rare.

Just think of all the "cowardly" men fleeing from wars that can just be boiled down to rich leaders fighting over who should be richer.

Even if it was a defensive war, the "coward" is risking a ton and will lose at least something because of his sacrifice and probably never received anything worth dieing for... probably never will receive anything for his sacrifice either (or he wouldn't be running like this).

It`s a destructive relationship. Men and women can not live together. She can`t share. She can`t apprechiate. She can`t enjoy. She needs to suffer. She needs drama. She wants dominance. But she is inept and mediocre in everything she does. It is too obvious for men, that they will suffer from stepping down on her level.

I've read her book. It's pretty good, my only real complaint is that she bashes anyone who doesn't want kids as "immature".
