They mistake natural hierarchy for oppressive power structures. Even lobsters have a hierarchy (thank you Jordan Peterson) as a natural result of seeking and maintaining resources to acquire a mate.

This is not oppressive, even the top lobsters does not go around beating up the other lobsters, he just wants them to leave his little cave alone.

The same with chimps. Oppressive groups quickly fail when the dominant chimp is too tyrannical. Two lower status chimps will band together and kill him.

Grossly ignorant of her. In basically every society ever, the most fortunate are the high status males, women for the most part are in the middle, and then at the bottom are the lower status males, of course things like health changing the fortunes up. Now not all societies have systematically, formally oppressed men, or anyone for that matter, but theres always, at least with humans, some oppression going on, it may be subtle, but its always there, someone is oppressing someone.

I had a talk with a couple friends awhile ago about genuine systemic preferential treatment of the sexes and there argument was pretty much “because men are preferred over women for jobs!” My response was like if you ran a business wouldn’t you want the most qualified person for the job? Or the best fit for your company? Regardless of sex? So do men. But let’s dive in to the systems within our society, the entirety of the legal system too to bottom is overwhelmingly anti male. From harsher sentences to giving women assets and children for the sole reason of being a women. THATS genuine systemic preferential treatment. Let’s dive in to social programs. Look at all the funding and resources available to women. Men? Boot straps bucko. Look at shelters ? Despite men being roughly 1/3 of domestic violence victims (read articles that claim more) something like 90% of domestic violence shelters are for women only. How about the fact that most homeless are men? It only seems to be a problem when someone points out that 1/4 or whatever of the homeless population is women.

TLDR if someone wants to say “the system” gives men privilege can shove it.
