We met in college when I was 20 which means that I have been with him for the majority of my adult life. He treats me wonderfully, is so thoughtful, I like his family and my family likes him. We've lived together for almost 4 years. We have 2 cats together. We've gone through a lot together over the last 6 years. Now we're both in grad school, as well as working full time, and it's been difficult to find time for "us."
I think it's made me start to fall out of love with him.
I love him and care about him so much. But the butterflies haven't been there for a while. I'm short with him, getting upset over small things.
My boyfriend is perfectly wonderful but I feel like we want different things. He says he knows how he will propose, and he talks about having kids. I don't know if I want to have kids, or even be married. I've tried to bring that up with him but it's tough when I'm not really sure what I want, myself.
I've also started to wonder what it would be like to be with someone else. Every once in a while I meet someone and there's just that spark. And I wish that I was single so that I could chase that. Lately I've been talking to someone I met at work and I always catch myself comparing my boyfriend to him in different ways. I can't stop thinking about him, and I know that's unfair to my boyfriend.
I know what I need to do but to be honest I'm scared. Our lives are so intertwined and I don't want to let go of him and then regret it, all because I had some doubts about us. And I feel tremendous guilt because he tells me every day how much he loves me and how excited he is to be together for the rest of our lives.
I hate myself, I hate this, I hate how complicated relationships are. I would love to hear any advice at all, or your experiences. I don't really have anyone I can talk to about this.

It reminds me of those women who abandon their first boyfriend and then regret it for the rest of their lives. Cry me a river, bitch. This woman is clearly not smart enough to foresee the consequences of her hypergamous ways.

Funny how she's basically describing her hypergamy and simultaneously wondering why she doesn't feel fulfilled, comparing her boyfriend to other men.
[–]MegaAlphadon25 points26 points27 points (0 children) | Copy Link
I had a really good gf I dumped for the same reason she's thinking of dumping him, just cause you think the grass is always greener.
Well actually I ended up getting validated because I found out way later that she had cheated, lmao. Still, a dumb reason to give up something that seems to be good, hope she never finds another good bf and regrets it forever.
[–]Fantoche_Dreemurr16 points17 points18 points (0 children) | Copy Link
If she asks this shit she already cheated several times and is asking for support.

Chasing butterflies is stupidest reason to break off a relationship.
Anyhow, thank God (or your deity of choice) that this guy isn’t married.
[–]deepspace715 points16 points17 points (2 children) | Copy Link
She's having the hypergamy itch, just like all women. I hope if she does counseling her therapist would just straight up tell her this. But of course that won't happen, and they tend to draw it out and make it about both people in the relationship.
[–]zubbs997 points8 points9 points (0 children) | Copy Link
The only counseling her poor sap of a bf needs is gtfo and go mgtow asap.

Don't waste your energy on hating people who feel like this. This is genetic programming in all its horrid glory. The Seven Year Itch is a real thing. We are all programmed in our DNA to seek out a new partner every 5-ish years to drive species diversity. This allows enough time to date, mate, procreate, and get the infant through their first few critical years. After that, the genes nudge you to go find someone else.
It's not wrong of her or anyone to feel that way, it's totally normal. It's only shitty depending on what you choose to do about it.
Don't hate the snake because it bites you, it's just a fucking snake.

I do hate the massive misinformation media pumps out to trick young boys into becoming consumers owned by a parasite. I understand capitalism’s only moral goal is to make money, but it really sucks that for decades and decades married men were slaves to society and consumerism.
Luckily, the solution is simple. You just gotta deprogram validation from women as important to you....
Simple solution, just not necessarily easy for everyone.

Her brain tells her he's wonderful. Her pussy is telling her to move on.
Pussy wins because well, her pussy is probably larger than her brain anyway.
This is why in the better days an active pussy was married off ASAP to a controlling older man who wouldn't let her see another man let alone fuck one.

So naturally you'd want to end it. It's gets boring when everything is going great. /s
Holy shit. Talk about reaching for an excuse to leave him.
Oh so it's really about hypergamy.
Based on everything she typed, the only thing that's complicated is her trying to figure out what the hell she wants.
I typed in the comments section that if she leaves him, he'll always be the one that got away. I also typed that I hope he ends up MGTOW.

I remember back in the day I had a great girlfriend, but I broke up with her before I left for boot camp cause I didn't want to get cheated on and didn't care for long distance.

All the signs are there that the tingles are gone. She repeats it over and over in various ways. She can't bring herself to just be honest. She wants Chad, Tyrone or a supercuck millionaire. Beta providers don't make her tingle and the man she thought would give her tingles didn't.
[–]throwawaymgtower0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link
This is what we call "tingles" - it's a fleeting moment of emotions and attraction that lots of women spend their whole lives chasing. We as men can't really understand that feeling because we aren't 'emotional' in the same way.
"I want to have my cake and eat it. I want the security that comes with a long term relationship but I also want the pleasure that comes with careless promiscuity."
I'm 99% sure that this bitch will end up being a serial cheater - best of both worlds.

You can easily go out on an adventure, explore/expand on hobbies,go to parks, dates, get pets and a whole plethora of shit. People who give up easily like this don’t really care.

She is openly thinking about other men, while she is in a relationship with a great guy.
Normal responsible adult would try to work things out, do some serious talking. There is dozens of methods to make it work.
[–]novhaku1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
And yet people justifying it always use the same "relationships are complicated/are not rational" bullshit line to make this behaviour look right. Disgusting. Relationships aren't supposed to be easy, but if you try to go into one, in other words if you make someone's well-being dependent of your OWN behaviour and mistakes, and you create a strong link between the two of you, and you aren't able to make some sacrifices yourself or to just actively TRY to do things other than being selfish for once when it doesn't go the way you want it, you're just a selfish asshole breaking people randomly just to get a temporary high; and not the "good" kind of "selfishness". A real relationship is like a child and you need to work on it if you want to keep it alive, so if you're a bitch say it openly day one, otherwise being too immature to do some efforts makes you a lowlife and nothing else. Which simps are indeed pitiful the ones manipulating them are even worse.
One of the many, many reasons relationships are never worth it and everyone here should stay away from them. Even if women WERE, and that's a big if, somewhat better, they don't have the maturity to pull it off. Do what they are unable to do and to be happy by yourself, guys. You don't need a thot using you as a tissue paper to get some kind of high and self-worth.
Which still doesn't make the fact that they destroy random simps because of their immaturity forgivable, but the least one can do when he's powerless, like anyone but this thot here is in this situation, is to show a good example to other guys.

She never discussed about visions. She just wants to do some fucky fucky.
[–]Nokam1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
You don't understand the situation, all she needs to do is figure out what she wants for the future.
But instead, she is dreaming of all the cocks out there !
No man ever wake up one day wanting to end the beautiful working relationship he maintained.

Because men and women are predictable and different in their nature.
These concepts are diametrically opposed in the modern society. In a better society where the woman is subservient the man can suppress her nature and together in this state it can work. When women have free will they bounce from provider to provider looking for the best combination of genetics and resources. To the extent they will share the same man. Notice how few men feel this way. Because we men operate on the idea of being validated externally. Because we don't give birth we evolved to seek love from the society we worked for.
