I need to let this out because it's finally hit me good.

I spent 5 years spent earning a college degree, 3 more years spent looking for a job in my career path, and the last year finally working in said career path. Today it finally got to me and I stopped and asked myself: "Really? Almost a decade of hard work just to go work a 9-5 for the rest of my life? Was it all worth it?"

The answer is fuck no. I felt so much better working retail as god awful as it was working there. I felt better being unemployed for 3 months, which was worse, but hey at least I had the entire day to myself. Where I am now, sitting in a cubicle on front of a computer screen for 40 hours a week, I'm just thinking to myself "Wow. So many years spent just for this."

I work as a contractor for an IT job, but as of today, I've stopped giving a shit about whether or not they hire me on permanently. In fact, I'd be happier if I didn't get hired on. I'm just farming up money in my savings, waiting for my contract to end. From there I'll likely go down another career path, maybe take up a trade. I'm still young so I can pull it off. It's just sad that I can't get back those years wasted.

Is this what society expects of us? Spending 18 years in a public school and another 4 years in college praying we don't go into debt just to work a white collar 9-5 office job? Find a girl, get married, and have kids together? Society really expects us to live this bullshit average Blue-Pill life?

FUCK THAT
