I think male comedians are generally funnier because we go through so much bullshit and are expected to tough through it. What better way to deal with it then joke about it?

I think it is subjective. men will find common ground with male comedians because we tend to go through the same life situations. women find women funny because of the same shared experiences.

the best comedy takes a lot of self awareness, and humility.

look at Louis CK, there is a lot of humility and being comfortable with a level of shame. or George Carlin....the awareness of the big picture, politics, economics. or Chris Rock or Dave Chapelle. able to see humor in the darkest racial injustices.

plus men are just humorous creatures. like on a deeper genetic/social level. i'm come to that conclusion. you put 5 guys together, and we'll make fart and dick jokes all night and laugh our asses of. put 5 girls together and they'll get drunk off wine and bitch about men until one of them gets moody and they have to be separated. Men need nothing to have fun. we just need each other and some silly topic to make a dumb joke about. women need men for entertainment.

humor is a social skill developed by men because they are suppose to hunt large/fast animals together and trust eachother.
for a man, another man is a resource to use while group hunting. and humor is a great way to social bonding, develop trust. for a man not trusting their mates while hunting down a mammoth can be situation of life and death.
for a woman, another woman is a rival, who can steal her food, her man, her place.
for a woman, trusting their mates with their food could be situation of life and death. thats why they never developed social bonding skills that men developed.

men will be funnier than women now, and forever. period.

I think male comedians perform better because men in general are expected to humor others, both other males (i.e. bosses at work, cops) and mainly females (it starts with our mothers). A women is never expected to do that. To be fair, they do it with sex, not comedy.

Male comedians are funnier for the same reason they're generally better at everything compared to women. It's because there is no pussy pass or hand-holding for men in this life. As I've heard Patrice O'neal say many times, women have never had to talk their way into something or develop a personality in order to get sex or anything else that they want.

Male comedians are funny because, normally men use reason and logic when they are speaking (well most men do at least), so when we say something outrageous its easy to see that we are being facetious or are telling joke. On the other hand women spout bullshit 24/7 so its often hard discern whether or not they are trying to be funny or just being their usual selves. Its why sometimes on this sub its hard to tell if an article on woman doing something nonsensical is a parody or not, because thats their default modus operandi
