I was talking to one of my more senior coworkers and he opened up to me a bit (background: we are both physicians in the hospital, that's why we are working right now). He said that his wife wasn't concerned about his health concerning the virus, all she is concerned about is that he doesn't bring the virus home to her. It seems like his daughters are similar. He said that the only person that really cares about how he is doing simply for the sake of his own well-being is his mother.

"I am a grown adult but she still worries so much about me.. She calls me everyday and wants to know if I'm okay and tells me to stay safe" is what he said. I told him it's rare to have somebody that really cares, and that it's a good thing. He agreed. In the back of my mind, I was wondering why the hell this guy bothered to get married and have kids at all. He had his mother before the marriage. It looks to me like he gained absolutely nothing except a burden. He even mentioned to me all the things he wished he could've done but can't do, since he's not a bachelor (he knows I'm a bachelor). He wanted to help care for ebola patients in Africa. Help with other relief efforts in the past. But couldn't because he has this family that 'loves him so much' (sarcasm). Figured I would share that with you guys.
