I was reading a chapter from the book "armchair economist", titled "The computer game of life".
The author (an economist) explains that in economics classes, so called "bussiness games" revolve around gaining maximal profit. This enforces the thought that people need to strive to die wealthy.
He then proposes another type of bussiness game: the profit you gain can be exchanged for coupons like "going to the movies" or "going out to eat" etc. At the end of the game, you "die" and all your profits vanish. This game maximalises consumption and prioritizes rewards in the form of experiences.
This hit me pretty hard and made me question my internal voice thats always telling me not be complacent and to work hard. Then i thought, why am i so baffled by this simple fact that at the end most things wont matter, if you did not enjoy the process.
I think from the time we are young, we are rewarded for the results we show. You can lose sight of what is important for YOU and go down a path of blood, sweat and tears only to find out at the end it is not really what you wanted.
So fellow mgtow brothers, think about what you would like to look back on after all is said and done. Then find a way to make it happen in a way that is enjoyable throughout the whole process.
Any further thoughts are certainly welcome
