For years I was told by scholarly feministic men and other women in general that to speak on certain issues, I should have a degree. I had been told this by conservative men who are generally feministic regarding issues with law enforcement bias against men, I have been told this by health practitioners regarding medical bias against men, and I have had people's social science-based degrees thrown in my face for years.

Well, I made the decision a year ago to go to college and get a pertinent degree in this area so that I would be able to speak on the matter as someone who would be knowledgeable in the subject, with paper to prove it, even though I've read in logic textbooks from years prior that using your degree status as the premise of your argument is a logical fallacy called "appeal to authority".

First, the shame started whenever I was taught about the appeal to authority argument in a way that stated that "appeal to authority arguments are valid and important, and NOT logical fallacies". They didn't break down the difference between qualified or unqualified authority, they're teaching students that if a layman brings you fact-based evidence to substantiate their claims, you can shoot it down with "I'm an expert on this due to this credential".

Here's the problem with those credentials: they're absolute brainwashed bullshit. I'm supposed to be doing an essay here in a little bit on a certain subject: social bias. We're allowed to pick gender bias so long as it's regarding women. We're allowed to pick bias in skin color so long as it's only regarding anyone but white men. We're allowed to discuss the #metoo movement and pay gaps, so long as it pertains to women.

Then today, we were provided several examples of gender bias, all about women.

I can receive a low grade and flunk out of college if I don't go with the narratives that men have it made in society, and now I realize why these other women I'm arguing with are coming out of the woodwork, holding degrees while not knowing shit, and getting angry when you contest their appeal to authority. That's the only tool their education ever gave them.

Scholarly articles now, and even peer reviewed articles... man I was SO excited to have an open database available to me, but if I search mens issues the first few results are womens issues. Of course half of these "scholarly articles" are non-backed opinion-speak trash that reads like a Ms. Magazine article.

How will we ever provide a discussion on men's issues if they're giving expert awards to people who were not forced to consider the other side? Every university promoting this needs to be completely stripped of accreditation. I thought I'd learn something, but instead I'm learning that I was right in the first place.
