Yeah what is wrong with protecting someone? Just don't protect women when they are in the wrong just because they are women. But protect anybody that needs help.

Touching and groping without permission is obviously not okay. He's violating your friends and you have every right to be angry about it.

There is no reason to feel wrong about being angry at him, just be sure. Step in and try to remain objective and ask his side of the story if you or your male friends have not witnessed anything yourselves. Your female friends would be committing proxy violence if you go with your male friends and harass or beat up an innocent guy. This issue should not be the responsibility of one gender. This is your friends problem and you should help them solve it but not do it for them.

The guy's being a jerk. So he should be handled like a jerk.

I would strongly advise against ever touching any woman involved though. In fact, you should be careful making physical contact with anyone at the time and scene of the act. You never know what people will accuse you of.

But you can tell the guy alone that he's being an idiot and a moron. And whatever else you feel to be appropriate, as long as you're alone with him and don't do anything stupid yourself.

No need to take legal action. The girls can handle that more than adequately thanks to feminism. If they can't be bothered to report it, then obviously they don't care enough.
