I don't understand how this is normalized and humorous to so many people.
With the exception of about 2 sitcoms, actually 1 now, 1 was cancelled for being to male oriented, every show, movie, commercial, print ad, etc., you come across plays the man as an imbecilic moron. Can't change a diaper without destroying the entire kitchen that the woman has to salvage. Can't send his kid off to college without being a blubbering idiot whose wife has to comfort and make everything better. Watch a cop show and the men are worse shots than stormtroopers and are always running around the corner blindly and getting beat by the bad guy almost to death. It's everywhere.
Society is, and has been for a long time, groomed to see men as complete pieces of garbage that women have to smack around like hysterical out of control people. My wife feels the same as you and has really started looking at things differently. She spends much of her time thoroughly disgusted with women.
