Lemme tell you what will happen here.

"Poor woman! Husband was off fishing, while she was left to take care of her severely disabled child! Poor thing, if she'd just had some help, this never would've happened! This is why women need more social programs! If mom had just had some sort of outlet to destress, this whole thing could've been avoided! We've failed as a society, and this little girl's death is our fault; if we'd helped mom out more, none of this would've happened!"

Now, lemme tell you how it would've read if it'd been a male.

"Father of two unplugged his disabled daughter's oxygen machine, leaving her to slowly suffocate over six hours. This represents a growing trend -of which we have no evidence or sources cited -of fathers being unable to handle the pressures of a disabled child; lawmakers are urging passing new bills to punish heinous crimes like these. Council member John Smith stated, "No child should ever have to die in agony like that, much less knowing it was at the hands of someone who was supposed to love them."

And then dad would've been charged with 2nd degree murder, and thrown in jail to rot. Not that he wouldn't deserve that fate, just that mom should've been charged the same as a man would. You kill your own child, I don't care what private parts you have, a life time in prison should be the sentence, period.

One of the comments following the article is frightening.

"I think there's more to this, I think this is the action of a severely depressed, stressed worried mother."

Would this commentator say the same thing if her father had killed her? No, he would be a monster who murdered his own child, death or life in prison, no parole, immediately.

For this type of people, like this commentator (in my opinion very likely a feminist), a woman is always innocent and a victim, even when she literally murders her own child. The comment even implies that it is really the *father's* fault (who wasn't even there):

"So her dad was on his jollies while mum was left caring for her?"

Read: it is really the dad's fault, after all. Let's hang *him*. Sheer insanity.

I watched in a video on YouTube that one of the reasons a mother would kill their child is because they think the child will not have a good quality of life. This is not an excuse, of course. She’s still insane. But it may explain why this woman killed her daughter.

this has nothing to do with mens rights. this was a woman who did a bad thing, no one said a man was at fault.
