This is a reaction to an earlier post as to why men aren't protesting on the streets for men's rights.
I personally believe there is a more effective way and would like your feedback. The gist is we're not protesting, we're negotiating.

If you happen to live in a gynocentric society, this is what I believe you should be doing if you are a boy or a man:

  1. Educate yourself on the rights you have and don't have. Understand the risks you are exposed to, and adjust your life choices based on that. Especially when it comes to relationships, children, and personal finances. Protect yourself as much as you can.
  2. Don't cold call, but when the opportunity arises, educate other boys/men about their rights and non-rights. Ultimately, they will need to make their own life choices. Remember, we don't need to get all men onboard. All that is needed is a critical mass.
  3. Educate yourself on what is really going on. The truth most likely is that many issues aren't as gendered as the world is trying to portray them. Men and women behave just as badly. The goal here however is to see through all the fog and make informed life choices.
  4. Our biggest strength is our ability to walk away. Women are no longer required to follow traditional roles, and neither are we. We are not required to provide for women and we are not required to protect them either. It's a choice you get to make and you can choose to let them take full responsibility for their lives and life choices.
  5. Don't be shamed into anything. Do what is right for yourself first before helping others.
  6. You don't have to respect women unless they've earned it. Instead, treat them with dignity AND as an adult with full agency. If they try to weasel out of their own responsibilities, call them out on it and/or walk away. They're not children anymore.
  7. Control the things that are within your control. Don't waste your time trying to change things that you have no control over anyway.

As I said, it's a negotiation. It's a slow process, but the idea is if you don't like the deal, you walk away. If they want you to come back to the table, they will need to offer a better deal. In the meantime, remain calm and collected and go on about your life. Let them do all the work.

Feel free to disagree/correct/flesh out and or point out other things I may have missed.
