When you first started your divorce process you should have gotten what's basically a code of conduct that includes custody. Look at that document to verify the language they used pertaining to out of state travel. Some will say up to a week without the other parents consent. Also Look at your papers you received over the custody information, if she isn't following what the courts ordered for visitation and giving you important information regarding your children's medical/school/extracurricular activities make a note of it.

Keep a journal of all infractions with proof/pictures/texts/call recordings -if legal in your state-. Take this to your lawyer, and let the judge know what's going on. Judges are starting to give more leeway to men in these instances. Not much but it will help your case tremendously to do this the right way through the courts. If you try to do things on your own then you'll lose any advantage.

Best of luck brother, I went through this two years ago. You got this. Just keep your head straight. Don't give in and do not what ever anyone else says, give her any extra time/money without explicitly gaining more time with your kids. You have to play hard ball here, don't give an inch more than you absolutely have to. And make sure she doesn't walk all over you at the same time.

Keep a record of every time she violates the divorce settlement. Taking your kids to another state without notifying you is very likely a violation. Taking them to the ER would be another. Refusing to turn them over for ordered visitation, etc.

Once you've got a quiver full of these violation arrows go file for contempt and the judge will bring you back in for a hearing. Fire that volley of evidence (through your atty if at all possible) and you should see some official sanction come down. I've seen a judge reverse primary custody on a wife trying this on her ex husband.

Please note when you go back for contempt you will likely be required to re-file all your financial paperwork from disclosure again so they can decide whether or not to change your child support or alimony payments. It's a giant pain in the ass.
