I was talking to me girlfriend about when we first started hanging out and what she first thought of me. She said that she felt very comfortable with me and said I was a "good guy" for not trying to force anything on her. I was kind of taken aback because that should be a given. I jokingly asked if that's all it took and she honestly said yes. Apparently it's not uncommon for guys to just go for broke and just whip it out. She showed me her phone and the messages that I read from guys was fucking horrifying.

I just feel like we can do better as men and that the bar of being a good partner shouldn't be "well he didn't try to rape me". I'm not saying that guys should be white knights, I'm just saying that maybe the bare minimum should be higher than your ability to not force yourself on a woman.
