Serious question: what does a relationship look like where both people "ruthlessly pursue their own self-interest"?

I absolutely think guys need more encouragement to stand up for themselves and not get trampled over, but that seems to go much further.

It's probably been posted, CBA to go through all the comments but the more idealistic people (i.e. bloopers) will pull some 'two wrongs don't make a right' bullshit and expect men to unilaterally disarm when it comes to dating strategies, then they hope that women will follow suit because it's unfathomable to expect women to live up to the same responsibilities placed on men.

Women as whole aren't as dumb as TRP makes out. Some are slutting it up, yes. A minority, who are overrepresented in most forms of media because sex sells.

I think most chicks are interested in having a few long term boyfriends and finding the right one. Not sleeping with every Chad she encounters. Same with men. We talk a big game on all the chicks we'd like to fuck, and some of us do live that way, but I think inside, most men just want a steady girlfriend to have sex with.

So to really serve your interest, you have to basically, practice your beta game. You need just enough entitlement, swagger and psychopathy to prevent yourself from becoming the bitch in the relationship - the rest is all about giving her emotional support, communicating, honesty, and being on top of your own life and goals.

If you really desire going full bore, game-spouting, plate spinning alpha male, be my guest. Imo, it's a lot of work for some casual sex that doesn't even feel that great.

The "chase your dream" shtick was given to everyone. So were "we are all special" and "be yourself and everything will turn out amazing."

Look, I don't care if we're all equal or if we all need to ruthlessly pursue selfishness. What I do want is for us all to be using the same standards, the same rule book here. I'm sick and tired of double standards. If we're going to throw out men making more than women, we're going to throw out alimony. If we're going to throw out "male privilege" we need to rework our social services system so that it isn't a straight redistribution of wealth from men to women (arguably "female privilege"). We can't treat this piecemeal where people get to select which perks to keep, that is not fair.

We live in a capitalistic society with a very individualistic culture so "pursue your self interest" is a given for both sexes and even if that makes one uneasy at the individual level, you have to at least be able to play defense and understand other people are going to use strategies against you chasing their self interest.

I don't see why you think this message is given only to women. Society encourages everyone to pursue their own self-interest. That's what capitalism is and we're in a capitalist society. You don't win the game of life by having the nicest morals or most noble intentions, you win by doing whatever's in your personal interest even if it means others lose. That's the world we live in. There's no fairness here.
