Newsflash: the rules for beauty contests reflect the reality of what people find beautiful and attractive. No one has the right to be beautiful; beauty is not an "equal opportunity employer".

Conclusion:
Feminism is about a lack of attention from high status males.
It's not even about unattractive (low status) males; both beautiful women and not-so-beautiful women get the attention of those.
But beautiful women get the attention of the attractive men ALSO and this makes them feel like everyone is attracted to them, they skate through life, and they don't freak out.
Less attractive women are only getting the attention of the less attractive men, and this causes acute hamster panic. It's not actually about the attention they're getting, it's about the attention they aren't getting. They start to freak out that they cannot fulfill their biological mandate.
Their anger could be vented at any of three targets: 1) Themselves, 2) Alphas, 3) Betas.
Solipsism means option 1 is off the table, obviously! And if they try to directly attack alphas, they will just alienate the attention they desperately crave, and besides, alphas aren't hanging around them to take shit from them. This means Option 3, attack "creepy" betas, the guys who actually give a shit about them, or think they do.
Strategy: Camouflage. Indirectly attack alphas by trying to destroy any institution that differentiates beautiful women from non-beautiful women. Try to promote the idea -- not that women are equal to men -- but that all women are equal to each other. Then try to undermine the beautiful women and make them less equal. Promote short haircuts (destroying a great differentiator) and promote explosively bitchy behavior so a beautiful woman will attack any guy who she feels is hitting on her on account of her looks.
The only guys who will hit on beautiful women are alphas, so betas see alphas get chewed out. The only guys who hit on unattractive women are betas, so betas get chewed out. Now it looks like all women are bitchy dykes and ANY approach makes you a creepy asshole.
The only combination where you don't get bitched out now is when a more attractive guy talks to an unattractive girl. This results in more FUG boffings than would happen in nature. Checkmate Beautyists!
Then ugly women approach betas for resources, and the betas are like "thank fuck there's finally a girl I'm allowed to talk to".

Does anyone else see irony that a literary critic would take part in a contest where all contestants were given prizes and deemed beautiful (the untamed beauty contest)? That person gets to decide what's good writing and what is not, but no one better think about deciding what is beautiful aesthetically and what is not.

Well that was a disappointing article. I thought it was going to be about a Scandinavian beauty queen who goes around saying things that annoy feminists.
On another note: did you ever notice that for every woman complaining about beauty contests, there's approximately zero point zero zero men complaining about bodybuilding contests?
Certainly every criticism of female beauty contests applies to male bodybuilding contests, perhaps even more so. And yet the vast majority of men who have no chance of and no interest in winning a bodybuilding competition don't get upset over the idea that they exist, because if some other dude wants to spend his time getting twenty-six inch biceps and two percent body fat then that's no skin off my nose.

The only people truly "oppressing" women are other women. When guys see better looking guys, the natural instinct is to try harder to compete with them. When women see more attractive or successful women, they try to put the other woman down, instead of working on themselves.
